Dewaxing of Edible Oils:

A) Need: Some of the oils like Sunflower Oil, Rice bran Oil and Coconut Oil have high quantity of oil soluble wax. Most of the waxes remain the solids at the normal room temperatures and some waxes gives cloudiness and hazy appearance to Oils, specially at the lower temperature days of the winters. For De waxing process, in crystallizer, oil is cooled to the 10 Deg C to 14 Deg C and then filtered from Pressure Leaf Filters.
